NAVAFC BOA BLDG 2785 Roof Repair

Project Description

Matos provided all labor and equipment necessary to remove, save and store roof access hatch, roof vent cover, HVAC condenser unit, and boiler exhaust ventilation stacks. Matos demolished the parapet wall sheet mental cap, vent pipe boot, metal flashing, lightning rods, lightning rod cable, pitch pockets, bituminous roof and rigid insulation. Matos then installed rigid insulation, chamfer strip, installed hard backer board, vent pipe boot, cold sea membrane roof system, flashing and sheet metal parapet wall cap. Matos then reinstalled the access hatch, roof vents, HVAC condenser unit and boiler exhaust ventilation stacks on the lower roof of B2785.

Architectural Demolition scope of work included the following: (1) Removed, saved and stored an approximately 3.46’ x 2.83’ roof access hatch, (2) Demoed an approximately 1.6’ x 1’6’ metal roof vent cover, (3) Demoed an approximately 1.67’ x 1.67’ metal roof ventilation, (4) Removed, saved and stored 4” x 6” downspout (Approximately 80 LF), (5) Demoed boiler exhaust ventilation sheet metal stacks.  The base of the stack measured approximately 2.25’ in diameter with an approximately 3’ tall 8” diameter pipe, (6) Demoed sheet metal parapet wall cap (Approximately 634 SF), (7) Demoed metal flashing (Approximately 396 SF), (8) Demoed 3 ½” Drain Waste Vent (DWV) pipe boot, (9) Demoed 2 ½” DWV pipe boot, (10) Demoed 4” x 4” x 4” pitch pocket (Approximately 4 EA), (11) Demoed bituminous rolled torched down membrane roofing (Approximately 101 SQ), (12) Demoed 3” rigid insulation (Approximately 193 BF).

Architectural New Work scope of work included the following: (1) Installed 3” rigid R15 insulation board (Approximately 9,229 SF), (2) Installed 3” chamfer strip around the base of the parapet wall and existing building (Approximately 535 LF), (3) Installed ½” hard backer board (Approximately 9,299 SF), (4) Installed cold adhesive membrane roofing system (Approximately 101 SQ), (5) Installed 3 ½” DWV pipe boot, (6) Installed 2 ½” DWV pipe boot, (7) Installed metal flashing (Approximately 198 LF or 396 SF), (8) Installed sheet metal parapet cap (Approximately 634 SF), (9) Reinstalled and approximately 3.46’ x 2.83’ roof access hatch, (10) Installed 1.6’ x 1’6’ metal roof vent cover, (11) Installed 1.67’ x 1.67’ metal roof vent cover, (12) Installed boiler exhaust ventilation sheet metal stacks. The base of the stack measured approximately 2.25’ in diameter with an approximately 3’ tall 8” diameter pipe. (13) Reinstalled 4” x 6” metal down spout (Approximately 80 LF). The project also included requirements for managing and correcting the 2’x2’ suspended acoustical ceiling system within the facility, and the interior walls which consisted of 3-5/8” metal stud furring at 16” on center with ½” gypsum board. The project included requirements for electrical, mechanical, exterior improvements, and concrete.
