The project involved renovation of rooms Z3C-13 & 15, 1600 square feet to house the high-powered laser equipment. Architectural scope of work included selective demolition and repair to walls, floors and ceilings associated with the renovation of the room Z3C 13 & 15 (Designated as Class 4 laser lab). Plumbing scope of work included requirements to provide and install in-house lab air, domestic cold water, domestic tap water, utility drops, and nitrogen gas piping. Electrical scope of work included requirements to carefully investigate and confirm voltage class, number of phases and current assigned requirement for various outlets. Penetrations created for the electrical conduit in rooms Z3C 13 and 15 were sealed with the appropriate firestop material. The exact routing of cable conduits, disconnect switches, overload devices and location of devices and equipment was governed by coordination with other trade and structural conditions. Matos provided and installed rectangular modular aluminum frame in room Z3C 15 and 13. The rectangular frame had provisions for NEMA L6 20R, NEMA L6 30R, NEMA L5 20R, NEMA 5 20R outlets around the frame. Matos dismantled and removed existing electrical and nitrogen gas line standing frame from room Z3C 13. Matos removed conduit and wire back to panelboards or to nearest junction box that was not being removed and needed to remain in service. All unused openings such as but not limited to, knockouts on panels and boxes, surface wire way openings, busway openings, circuit breaker empty slots were covered with approved cover plates. Matos provided and installed electrical conduit, cable conduits, disconnect switches, and overload devices.
